Sojourn Uganda, Redeemer, Sovereign Grace, One Tribe Logos in Uganda......what shall it be. We have to come up with a name and we are divided on what to call it. Sojourn sounds cool, Redeemer is on every other block around here, Sovereign Grace is good but One Tribe may speak to the people a bit and Logos in Uganda sounds like a Star Trek episode. I'm sure it will come to us, but we want to give it some meaning to what we're about. Gospel centered, Christ exalting, Scripture driven, glory of God focused, faith filled, grace operated ministry. If you haven't heard from us in awhile that's because we haven't recharged our account until now. In addition you're also not on our prayer list or you haven't checked the web-site. You may have some catching up to do. Some exciting things have happened and
God is definitely at work in Uganda. Strong opposition is often a good indicator to the correct direction of ministry, (often not always). We've began the process of forming an NGO that plants churches and hosts teams from the US. We have two teams scheduled this summer. One is a medical team sharing the treasure through medicine. This is a strong witness to the community and draws all types of people to it: Muslims, pagans, animists etc. We're excited for this opportunity to serve with these doctors and nurses who are willing to offer their services at their expense and to the glory of God. Many in Uganda do not see a doctor and rarely on a regular basis. In addition we will be hosting our home church Easthaven Baptist in early October. This will be a teaching/mercy ministry working to feed the souls and bodies of the community we serve in. Pastor Matt, myself and Sam Wills will lead the charge in teaching. The ladies will be focused on some mercy helps in a cooperative effort with churches in the area for womens outreach, ie: cooking together, serving in a government orphanage and possibly doing a kids camps or a ladies conference. We have found the surrounding churches to be open and inviting to our ministry plans for the community. I've been in talks with the leaders of the community and things are seeming to line up quite well. Pray for the opposition to get saved, God to get his glory and Jesus to receive the reward of His suffering.

I visualize when you speak. I pray the nasty guys from Somalia are kept way way to the North. But when the government puts you in jail for having a bible study, it hits home that billions of people really hate Christ.
The garden project that Sharon Shropshire started at the North West corner of EBC is sputtering along. I thought it would be neat to send you a box of fresh veggys. Tonight, Sharon, Mary Rice, and myself are cooking dinner for the transients, indigent, and hobos at the Luthern Church - corner of Evergreen and LaSalle. EBC volunteers are now going to cook on the 5th Thursday of the months.
Lisa Collona is doing a super job of getting Greeters on every Sunday morning and, Daniel, you would be amazed at the new fresh faces we see every week. Maybe, it's because Lambert's sermons are improving?
My small Outreach ministry has about a dozen volunteers to deliver brownies and an EBC info pak to visitors. How cool. Now the visitor gets something sweet for the tooth within a week of the visit. Sam and Dawn Wills have been a terrific help.
Talk later and God bless the family.
